There are some that does both.
If you want a good one from the shops, try Trend-Micro or McAfee (never Norton).
If you want a free one try MalwareBytes. http://www.malwarebytes.org it’s very good.
    They both are anti-virus and anti-spyware. They’re anti-malware.
You may want to scan just for spyware after you scanned with the Anti-Malware programs just incase. For this use Super Anti-spyware http://www.superantispyware.com/
You should also do the scan in Safe Mode after you install the product in normal mode. To get in Safe Mode, restart your computer and before the screen that says ‘Windows XP’ or ‘Windows Vista’ press F8 repeatively.
    Paragraphs are my friends…

The best spyware and virus protection is ESET NOD32 Antivirus! AVG is good but it is suitable for computer expert, Norton has too many rubbish function so slow down your computer, Malwarebytes is a good tool to scan virus but it is no real time protection.

Avira AntiVir free with superantispyware and spyware terminator; I also reccomend comodo firewall! a great FREE security package! all are good and i have every one on my laptop! also get a safe web browser like firefox and site advisor such as: web of trust (for firefox), or mcafee site advisor. from there you should be super protected since comodo firewall, super anti spyware, and avira are top rated with highest detection rates, also spyware terminator gives real time protection and is great!

I had the same problem and honestly dude, I had to buy a program but it worked and I have the product forever now so i can use it whenever.
remember those “free” virus removal programs are only there to bait you into buying the real product anyways
I went with the NoAdware program. I tried their free trial and then ended up getting it. you can check it out here.http://sturly.com/noadware_freetrial
    good luck!

Lots of personal preference in this category. Starting with free as a major goal, the reviews I’ve read on-line rank Avast (http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html) and AVG 8 (http://free.avg.com/) as the best. I use AVG. I’ve recommended both.
I would also commend the previous recommendation on Spybot 1.6 S&D (http://www.spybot.com/en/download/index.html).
All three products are easy to use, easy to maintain, easy to install. And free.
If you want to pay, Spyware Doctor with AntiVirus 6 and Webroot AntiVirus with AntiSpyware 6.0 are pcmag’s Editor’s Choice products, and run under $40. They scored well above the other products mentioned above
One last thing – I still have dozens of clients using Norton without a problem. And I can relate a horror story on every major AV product out there, often more the fault of the operator than the software.
    Good Luck.

Well, There is no free spyware removing tool available, but you can get a trial scan before buying any software actually. I’m using XoftspySe which is available here http://www.killmyspyware.com. I know you said that you get a trial scan. Try this, i’m sure it will help you.

There isn’t one that does both well.
AVG 8 is good virus protection, and spybot is good spyware.
