I have AVG 8.0 on my computer; and everytime that I sit still for a few minutes; the “threat detector” pops up and says that I have a threat on – open – and it is called Downloader.Zlob. However; the threat encyclopedia is not giving me any info on it. Can anyone help in this matter? Much appreciated……

    This is not a virus………….
Trojan-Downloader.Zlob.Media-Codec disguises as required upgrade software for Windows Media Player to be able to view videos online. It contains malicious codes that downloads a variant of Trojan.Zlob which is the culprit for Rogue Antispyware Programs such as SpywareQuake, SpyFalcon Winfixer
    and many others.

I know I get it everytime I go to Tube8.com, it’s used to view videos. I’ve gotten rid of it with SpyBot.
I also use others on a regular basis to clean the garbage out of my PC.
I found non of the boughten ones work as well as these:
    FREE !!!!
    Computer Maintenance
    Advanced WindowsCare V2 Personalhttp://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscare…
    CCleanerhttp://www.ccleaner.com/
    Spybot S&D
    >>…>…….http://www.safer-networking.org/en/>….…
    Ad Aware 2008http://www.download.com/ad-aware-2008/30…
    Avira AntiVir® PersonalEdition Classic….http://www.free-av.com/
I’ve been using them all for over a year now.
They are all compatible with each other and Windows XP and Vista as well as older versions of Windows.
You will have a trouble free, clean, green, mean machine.

i cant answer what it is … all i can say is that zlob is not a good thing to have on your pc … i would get spybot search & destroy (free of course) and do a full check for problems, its more than likely AVG is missing the one thing that keeps downloading zlob. Spybot has done wonders for me in the past, and still i recommend it all the time.
